The front side depicts the building of the first and legendary Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. It was built in 1887, and is also one of the largest theaters in Ukraine and is often mentioned in the lists of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. The building survived several wars and reconstructions but managed to preserve its uniqueness and is still a place where outstanding artists and musicians perform.

Built in 1899, the building originally intended for exchange trading, and because it housed the new merchant market, which was built to replace the old stock exchange, which is the Promenade. This need was caused by an increase in exports of grain through the port city, the advent of the railway in it and, accordingly, the growth of trade deals. In Soviet times, when the planned sale has replaced the stock, the building changed its destination: for many years it was occupied by various public and state organizations, held plenary sessions, organized literary evenings.
