LOT #19191. Branded art envelope "Depot Piano Moritz Rausch", Odessa.
Music depot (trading house) of the merchant M. Rausch, was founded in 1886 and was located at the address; Police Street, house 35. The envelope has a two-sided art print: on the front side there is a bilingual inscription with the merchant's surname and city and an image of a harmonium, and the second side has multi-images, informational and advertising inscriptions. The advertisement read: "Depot Piano Moritz Rausch". Large warehouse: pianoforte, piano, church accordion and all musical accessories, the most famous factories: Germany, France and America. The cover depicts the Shah's Palace, also known as the Brzozovsky Palace, located in Odessa. This neo-Gothic building was built in 1851-1852 according to the project of the architect Felix Gonsirowski, for the Polish nobleman Zenon Bozhovsky.
The name "Shah's", in turn, received only in 1907, when it was rented by the Persian Shah Mohammed Ali, who fled to Odessa from the revolution in Iran.
