The history of Arcadia as a resort began in the late 19th century, when entrepreneur Emile Cambier turned a ravine (called "Rypa" by locals) into a recreation area, naming it after the Greek Arcadia. Since then, Arcadia has become a popular place for recreation and entertainment, having gone through several stages of development, including the construction of summer cottages, restaurants, a tram line, and then modern entertainment complexes
