Etude " house of Inglezi " Odessa.
LOT #19081. Etude "house of Inglez" Odessa. The author's work is a student of the Odessa Art College named after M. Grekov, made in 2005. Condition: Excellent. Size: 12 x 16 cm. Watercolor / cardboard. Äìèòðèé Ñïèðèäîíîâè÷ Èíãëåçè.

P.S. The house was built by D. E. Mazirov in 1901, architectural styles - Renaissance, eclecticism. This is a home for wealthy tenants, like many others in the center, and it is remembered even among the works of other eminent architects. Inglezi family, which owned the house, left a significant mark in the history of Odessa, and not only. Dmitry Spiridonovich Inglesi (or Iglesi), the most famous representative of this Greek family, was a sailor, pirate, entrepreneur, and participant in two wars. And also - a prominent figure of the Greek Revolution and the mayor of Odessa in 1818-1821. He also stood at the origins of the creation of Porto-Franco in Odessa. Actually, he was the founder of this family in our city: born in Kefalonia (Ionian Islands, Greece) in 1771, he ended his century in Odessa in 1846. The building is a monument of architecture and local history.
